Ooooh, New York!

May I just say how amazing New York is! It's such a beautiful city. There's so much to see, so much to buy. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for me to explore the city (being very ill did not help either)...and oh my, may I just say how crazily expensive it is to see a doctor in the States! It's absolutely crazy! I'm so grateful that we have our national health service, to SOME extent.

Anyway, here are a "few" pictures to explain how the trip was...

New York, wait for my return!
Haha.

RMK Ingenious Gel Eye liner (01 Black).

This was kind of an impulse buy. I always look forward to trying RMK's products. This very black gel eyeliner gives a fairly easy and smooth application. It has a lovely texture compared to some of the gel eyeliners I have previously tried.

Gel eyeliners are quite hard to work with initially, just like any other form of eyeliner. Even until today, I'm still no pro when it comes to drawing any sort of line/flick on my eyelids! They say practice makes perfect...I guess they meant A LOT of practice.

I have used this eyeliner a reasonable amount of times and I have noticed that it doesn't seem to stay that well in place, especially if I apply it on my waterline. If I'm careful and my make up hasn't been on my face for too long, I can get the product to stay on my eyelid pretty well but it smudges a lot in the corners of my eyes and on my lower lash line if I choose to apply any excess around the waterline which is very annoying. I personally have very oily eyelids and my eyes can be quite "teary" at times (especially during summer time) so this may be one of the reasons why I have problems with the product. It just isn't waterproof/smudge proof enough for me to like it. I enjoy using RMK's products and have done for many years, but this was sadly a let down for me. Although its staying power isn't great on my skin, it's definitely better than some of the eyeliners I've tried in the past!

Review: Lancome UV Expert GN-Shield BB Complete.

I bought this product a long time ago, when I went to Thailand, as make up brands tend to vary their product ranges from country to country, it was not available in the UK. As far as I was concerned, it was only for sale in Asia. I remember seeing some make up artist mentioning the product (or something very similar) when I was watching a TV show, so when I saw the product in the airport, I just had to buy it.

I have used the product quite a lot of times yet I still have a lot left, so you definitely get your money's worth. I like how there is such a high SPF (50 PA+++), however, I think that it is this factor that makes the skin look quite oily. I have oily/combination skin so I definitely do not need to look any more oilier than I already do.

This Lancome "BB cream" has a unique, but pleasant scent. However, when you've applied it to the entire face, you may notice that your skin looks rather white. No matter how long you rub it in for, your skin colour will still look a little strange initially. You need to give the product some time for it to sink in to the skin, for it to match your skin colour.

I would say that the coverage is okay. After all, it is a BB cream so if you're looking for something with high coverage, then this may not be for you. This is one of them products that you would choose to wear when you want to avoid using heavy foundations i.e. during summer.

I'm not quite sure why, but in the past, when I've used this on a frequent basis, I feel as if I break out more often than usual. Personally I was quite disappointed with the product as Lancome are well known for their good make up products. However, we must remember that everybody's skin is different so just because it doesn't work as well on my skin, doesn't mean that that'll be the case for everyone else.

Review: Foot Pack.

It's 3am in the morning but I just have the urge to blog.
My feet have been so dry lately! So they definitely needed some sort of pampering! I've been stocking up on these foot packs ever since I discovered them. It's actually quite hard to find these kind of foot masks in the UK. My feet always feel so soft after using them. However, it's one of them products that you have to constantly use...as the effects don't seem to be long-lasting. They're so much more convenient than having to buy a pair of moisturising socks, and having to apply a load of cream on before you slip them on. All in all, I think it's a good product and definitely worth repurchasing. You'll notice a slight difference when using them, but just don't expect any miracles!

I bought this foot pack from Home Bargains, and they were 99p per pack when I last went! (Sorry, I can't provide a link because they don't seem to be available on the website.)

This Works: Daily Boost Body Scrub.

So I was looking for any old body scrub in Boots and I came across this one! Is it me or are body scrubs really limited in drugstores? Anyway, I thought I'd give this one a try seeing as I've never used anything from This Works and it seems to be quite popular online. As for the scent, you'll either like it or hate it. I personally think it's quite pleasant, but in a strange way. You'll get what I mean when you have a sniff yourself. The body scrub has a weird texture. There are very small beads yet when you apply it onto your body, it feels smooth. Anyhow, it's definitely gentle enough to be used on a daily basis and I did to some extent felt that my skin became smoother after using the product. However, I expected more as it's not the cheapest of body scrubs.

Pray for MH370.

I can't imagine the pain that all their family and friends are feeling right now. The fact that an aeroplane that big could just disappear in thin air is frightening. It really is.

MH370, where are you?

The world is on the look out for you.

Please return home, safely.

Please let miracles happen.

All your loved ones are waiting for you...

Please pray for MH370.

L'Oreal Paris Renewal Lash Serum.

Yes, I am the typical Chinese girl with REALLY short eyelashes! It's so annoying because no matter what mascara I use, my eyelashes still remain short and straight!

I bought this product a long time ago when I was shopping in Malaysia but never really did a review on it so I thought why not do one today! It is a lot more affordable compared to a lot of other eyelash enhancing serums than I have currently seen in drugstores.

When I first used the product, I was really excited to see what kind of results I would get! Unfortunately, my eyelashes have not grown. Whilst using this product, I did however feel that my eyelashes were "stronger" but I felt that more eyelashes were falling out than usual. I'm not quite sure whether that was part of the renewal process but I got worried so I soon stopped using the serum.

I wouldn't say that I regret buying L'Oreal's renewal lash serum as I'm always looking forward to trying new things. However, it's one of those products that you sometimes forget to use and end up putting aside. You're supposed to use such items continuously but I just got way too lazy! I ended up using it whenever I remembered to or felt like doing so!

Review: Creme de La Mer - The Tonic!

Soooo...I decided to go all out and treat my skin to some Creme de La Mer toner! The toner smells lovely and is gentle on the skin! The bottle lasted me for around two months and during this period, I noticed that my skin felt softer than usual. I've always had a problem with choosing toners as there are so many on the market and a lot of them seem to contain a lot of alcohol, which my skin does not like.

The packaging is kept nice and simple here, but recently the brand has changed the packaging of quite a few of its products (it looks better)!

I would say that this toner is suitable for most skin types. If you have really oily skin, I would suggest using the oil absorbing tonic instead as the tonic tends to be more moisturising and therefore, it might be too much for those who have very oily skin. However, you could try using a lighter moisturiser if you want to use the tonic (that is if you have oily skin).

This toner is definitely a good product, however, do not expect it to control those breakouts. It simply tones the skin and gives it a healthy glow.

My skin seemed to like the tonic and it is definitely a product I would consider repurchasing. The only downside to it is its high price tag! I guess looking after your skin comes at a high cost!

RMK Firming Essence Review!

I've already been through a couple of bottles! Originally I wanted to purchase the "brightening" version of this but RMK stopped selling it as they were having issues with the product. This firming essence may sound as if it's only suitable for older individuals but I personally think that it's a good product. It has definitely kept my skin moisturised. Usually, I will get the occasional dry patch on my face (usually around my nose) when winter arrives but this hasn't happened lately *touch wood*.

I must also comment on the scent of this product! Normally I don't care too much about the scent of products, as long as they don't stink! However, this one just goes unnoticeable! It smells really nice! It definitely is RMK's nicest smelling skincare product to date!

The packaging of the product is good too! I like how it's in a glass bottle as it feels more luxurious. It's great how it has a pump too! I hate it when I have to dig into a moisturiser tub! I find it so unhygienic!

As I have oily skin, applying this as well as a toner and sunscreen can sometimes be a little heavy for my skin so it's important that you don't apply too much if you have the same problem! However, this won't stop me from purchasing the product in future!
